FORT McCOY, WI (WSAU) — Two refugees staying at Fort McCoy have been indicted on charges in separate incidents.
Mohammad Haroon Imaad, 32, is accused of assaulting his spouse by strangling and suffocating her. Officials say the incident occurred on September 7th, but no further details were given. He faces a maximum penalty of ten years in prison if found guilty.
Another man, 20-year-old Bahrullah Noori, is accused of trying to have sex with a minor through the use of force. In that case, officials say the victim was four years younger than Noori and was younger than 16. If found guilty he faces between 30 years and life in prison.
Both men are now being held in the Dane County Jail after making initial appearances on September 16th in circuit court and both will appear in US District Court for Western Wisconsin on Thursday.
Charges against them stem from investigations conducted by the FBI and the Fort McCoy Police Department.
