GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Law enforcement officers in Brown County have a very simple message for those thinking of getting behind the wheel drunk:
“Don’t”.
They’re conducting saturation patrols, looking for OWI offenders, as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Program.
“We’ll go and saturate an area or will get several areas to saturate,” said Cpt. Dan Sandberg with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. “We could have anywhere from about 12 to 14 cars out there doing all doing the task force.”
Lt. Kevin Pawlak with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office says those heading out should make plans.
“Plan ahead, you know, pick a sober driver. Plan on taking a cab or an Uber,” said Pawlak. “And if the plan falls through, don’t just say ‘I got to drive’. There are so many other options out there.”
The effort lasts through labor day.
