VALDERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Three men wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Manitowoc County have been accounted for.
Sheriff’s officials say that on July 7 around 11:30 p.m., first responders went to the 400 block of Christel Drive in Valders for a report of an attempted armed robbery. It was initially learned that three men entered an apartment and assaulted two males with guns and a crow bar.
Both victims suffered significant injuries and were taken to a Manitowoc hospital. Additional information on their conditions was not released.
Following an attempted to find them, all three suspects were located. Hunter Steiner, 22, of New Holstein, turned himself in to authorities. He was held at the Manitowoc County Jail on arrest warrants for attempted armed robbery, burglary-armed with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery, possession of burglarious tools and bail jumping. He remains in custody on %50,000 cash bail.
Deputies in Fond du La County found 21-year-old Brayton Zimmerman, of Mount Calvary. He was interviewed and released pending further investigation.
On Wednesday, Chase Wagoner, 23, of Glenbeulah, was arrested in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is being held pending extradition back to Wisconsin. Investigators will be referring charges of attempted armed robbery, burglary-armed with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery and possession of burglarious tools, authorities say.
The investigation is ongoing.
