Governor Evers announced that farmers might soon be able to sign-up for another grant program that would give struggling producers in the state some of the money from the American Rescue Plan. He’s currently in talks with farm organizations and commodity groups to see what can be done to help out Wisconsin farmers. The program would be similar to the Wisconsin Farm Support Program from last summer.
The governor says he doesn’t expect the regulations for eligible farmers to be any different than they were in 2020 when farmers were given $3,500 after the initial sign-up period. At this time, he explained there are no other finalized details about the 2021 assistance, but help should be on the way.
