GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The City of Green Bay has been given a second extension to respond to a complaint filed with the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
In early April, five residents filed a complaint about how the city conducted the November election.
The group claims the city violated state and federal laws by changing conditions of the election. The conditions were part of a $1.6 million grant from the Center for Tech and Civic Life, according to the complainants.
The city now has until June 15th to file a response to the complaint, according to an official with the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
Tuesday was supposed to be the deadline for the city to respond, based off an initial extension that was granted late last month.
It’s unclear if Green Bay requested the extension. The Wisconsin Elections Commission says outside counsel gave all parties more time.
The city has maintained it did nothing illegal during the election and it released a 19-page internal report, summarizing how it carried out the election.
