GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The new Resch Expo is continuing to get some use, as more than four-thousand competitive dart throwers are taking part in the Wisconsin Amusement & Music Operators State Dart Tournament this weekend.
“The entire floor of Resch Expo is full of dartboards. It’s so great to see thousands of people using that facility,” said Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau Marketing and Communications Director, Brenda Krainik. “It’s just what that building is really meant to be, is to be bringing so many people to town.”
Friday and Saturday are the full days for dart throwers. Friday will see over 1,500 players throwing at 8 a.m., and another 1,500 players throwing at 4 p.m. Saturday at 8 am, 1,700 players be at the boards and Sunday’s finals at 8 a.m. will see 1,300 players.
But when the throwers aren’t on the floor, they’re likely going to be getting out of the expo facility and checking out the surrounding area. That’s what the CVB is excited to see.
“What we’re most interested in is the activity outside of the building. Whatever’s walkable will be very busy. The restaurants, the bars are going to see a heightened activity in the stadium district,” Krainik told WTAQ News. “This is going to be a great event for the month of May because Green Bay will see an economic impact of about $3 million with the several days that they’re in town.”
More information about this event and others coming to the Resch Complex can be found on their website.
