GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce is launching a new service to try and help local businesses recruit and maintain new employees from outside of the local area.
The Green Bay Community Concierge program works by creating customized local tours for potential new hires and recent business recruits.
Eric Vanden Heuval is the Vice President of Talent and Acquisition for the Chamber, and he says it’s something businesses have asked for.
“We know that businesses [here] have the ability to attract people from around the globe,” said Vanden Heuval. “But making sure that those candidates want to live where that work is, is an important part of it.”
It’s a service that’s available to anyone.
“This is meant to be available to any person, any individual, any company who is is looking to bring in that new talent,” said Vanden Heuval, adding that it is not a “luxury” service.
It works by contacting the recruit, performing a short interview, and then creating a customized tour based on the recruit’s interests.
They’ll also help with housing suggestions and partner career support.
It’s already been taken advantage of, too. The chamber hosted an executive chef, and his wife, in the area back in April as they prepared to relocate from Florida.
More details are available at the chamber’s website.
