OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A former Oconto Falls substitute teacher and volleyball coach was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison for sexually assaulting a student.
Brynn Larsen, 31, previously pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of third-degree sexual assault. Three other counts were dismissed.
Larsen was also placed on extended supervision for five years by Judge Michael Judge. Larsen will have to register as a sex offender after her release, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, Larsen was a substitute teacher and a volleyball coach at Oconto Falls High School. She allegedly engaged in an on-going sexual relationship with a student. There was an investigation then, but no charges were filed. In 2020, the victim came forward to confirm the two indeed had a sexual relationship, and charges were filed.
With the victim’s consent, investigators contacted Larsen through the victim’s Facebook account where Larsen admitted to the sexual relationship. Larsen said she did not regret the relationship and stated she isn’t a pedophile because she never “went after” the victim or made her do anything she didn’t “want to do,” the complaint says.
