APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A father and son were charged Friday with allegedly maintaining a drug trafficking place, days after SWAT team officers raided a home on Spring Street.
Jon Hostettler, 48, and Ryan Hostettler, 20, made initial appearances Friday in Outagamie County court. Jon Hostettler’s bond was set at $10,000 cash, and he returns to court July 16 for a status conference. Ryan Hostettler’s bond was set at $5,000 cash, but no preliminary hearing was set.
Police executed a search warrant at 1038 W. Spring Street on Wednesday morning, as part of what was described as a year-long investigation.
According to the criminal complaint, the overdose death of Cory Jordan in May is related to the address. One of Jordan’s friends told police “when Cory relapses on drugs he stays at Ryan Hostettler’s house,” the complaint states. Ryan Hostettler took Jordan to the hospital the night he died.
However, neither Hostetler – or anyone else – has been charged directly in connection with that incident.
Ryan Hostettler told police people would often stay at the home and do drugs there, according to the complaint. Ryan Hostettler was arrested on the day of the raid.
